When I was a child I always liked to draw. I would draw whenever I was watching TV, I would draw all over my folders and book covers, and when I talked on the phone with my friends. As I grew older I gravitated towards wanting to paint. So I purchased some oil paints and started experimenting. I really enjoyed it but as I had children, my children started getting into my paints so I put them away until they were a little older. Well that turned into 25 years.
My children grew up and moved away so I thought I should try my hand at painting again. I never had formal lessons so I’m not sure if I even paint properly, but, this is how I paint so I guess you can call it my personal style. When I sit in front of my easel and mix my paint colors it is very peaceful. As I paint I find myself in deep thought and hours will have passed but feeling like it was only moments. I feel great satisfaction when I am done with a painting. I love to create paintings, it is my passion.
I live in the mountains of north Idaho and everywhere I go I think of how would this look or that look as a painting. Many times I will snap a picture of something that catches my eye for a future project. I feel a deep sense of accomplishment from seeing the actual scene to a finished product.
